Despite being home to the largest concentration of wealth in Canada, in 2015, the Greater Toronto Area continued to face a critical shortage of affordable housing. In the areas served by Habitat for Humanity GTA – Toronto, Brampton, Caledon and York Region: Housing is deemed unaffordable if a household spends more than 30% of its pre-tax income on rent, plus utilities.
