Interested in gaining construction experience or developing new home repair skills for your next DIY project? Do you have experience working in the skilled trades and enjoy giving back to your community? Yes?  Then our Build Volunteer opportunity is for you!

Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area is currently recruiting volunteers to help build homes across the GTA alongside families to further our mission of helping working, low income families build a brighter future through affordable homeownership.

What you need to know:

  • Volunteers are not required to have prior building experience
  • Onsite training is provided by our skilled Crew Leaders  
  • We build 12 months a year, Monday to Saturday
  • All safety equipment is provided onsite
  • All volunteers must be a minimum of 16 years old to build

*** Volunteers under the age of 18 require a waiver signed by a parent or guardian

Reports to: Site Supervisor, Site Volunteer Coordinator and Crew Leaders

Shifts: 8 hour shifts from 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday through Saturday

Current Buildsite Locations:

  • 357 Birchmount Road, Toronto
  • 270 McLevin Avenue, Scarborough
  • 8600 Torbram Road, Brampton

Position Requirements:

  • Participate in a full build day from 8:00AM – 4:00PM
  • Utilize construction tools and equipment
  • Ability to lift 20-30lbs
  • Attend all necessary Habitat for Humanity training sessions
  • Assist in providing a safe and healthy working environment
  • Willingness to learn from experienced volunteers and staff
