POSITION TITLE: Driver Ambassador Assistant, ReStore (2 Vacancies)                  

STATUS AND HOURS: Permanent, Full-Time

LOCATION: Brampton, ON

REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, ReStore Logistics and Donor Services



The ReStore Driver Ambassador Assistant will be responsible for assisting Primary Driver Ambassadors (PDA) on the trucks with the pick-up, drop off, deliver and salvage donated furniture, building and renovation materials in a safe and efficient manner throughout the GTA.  The DAA will act as an ambassador for the organization, always representing Habitat for Humanity GTA in a respectable manner.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Being a DAA for Habitat for Humanity GTA means you are often the front line connection between the company and our valued customers and donors. Our PDAs are considered amongst the best in the industry because of their professionalism, integrity, skilled product handling, and commitment to providing our customers and donors with the ultimate service experience
  • Partnering with a PDA, evaluate the suitability of materials at pick up and salvage locations in accordance with current criteria established by the Senior Manager of ReStore Logistics & Donor Services
  • Responsible for the careful loading and unloading of delivery trucks, deconstruction and salvaging of gently used furniture, appliances and other household items while providing professional, efficient pickup and delivery service in the customers’ homes, corporate offices, and our ReStore sites
  • Work with other key departments, the PDA team's goal is to ensure a pleasant and memorable overall customer and donor experience. This collaborative approach to our business creates a helpful, positive environment for all and maintains our standard of excellence for Habitat for Humanity GTA
  • Support overseeing the volunteer salvage team and coordinating the removal of materials in conjunction with the team in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensure all salvage and pick-up sites and surrounding areas are left clean and undamaged
  • Alert the PDA and Joint Health & Safety Committee to any safety hazards and challenges at salvage sites
  • Assist with in store operations when required




  • Friendly and helpful demeanor
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting on a regular basis; able to easily lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to safely handle donated products such as cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, appliances, construction materials
  • Pickup & delivery experience is an asset
  • Team work skills
