Celebrating Our Great Place to Work® Certification for the Second Year in a Row!
Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area is thrilled to share that it has been certified as a Great Place to Work® for the second year in a row! This remarkable achievement reflects the collective efforts, values, and positive impact each individual brings to the organization.
The Great Place to Work Institute® Canada is a leading global authority on workplace culture, and this certification is a major accomplishment for everyone involved. The staff has shown that the organization embodies its Guiding Principles, which include: ‘Be Extraordinary, Teamwork is in our DNA, Lead to Succeed’ among others. The relentless commitment to evolving, growing, and ensuring that everyone feels that the workplace is truly exceptional is a reflection of all the collective efforts, values, and the positive impact made on one another. The organization is building an environment together where each employee can flourish and contribute their very best.
Elizabeth Teles, the Senior Director of People & Culture, shared her thoughts on this achievement: “This certification is a reflection of our collective efforts and the positive impact we make on one another. We are committed to evolving and growing, ensuring that everyone feels valued and supported in our exceptional workplace.”
Habitat GTA stood out for fostering a culture where employees feel valued and believe they make a meaningful impact. Employees highly rate their managers for fairness and support, reflecting a strong sense of justice within the organization. The emphasis on people care ensures that everyone feels appreciated and empowered to contribute to the organization’s success. This positive environment not only enhances job satisfaction but also reinforces the belief that each individual’s efforts truly matter. By actively seeking and implementing feedback, the organization creates a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
While this certification provides great insight into how the staff feels, it’s important to emphasize that the journey is still ongoing. As the results of this year’s engagement survey are examined, the organization is eager to identify more opportunities for growth and improvement. This is a collaborative endeavor, and the Habitat GTA is committed to shaping its future by listening to and responding to both positive and negative employee feedback.
Heartfelt gratitude is extended to every employee who steps in daily and brings their passion, devotion, and care into the work of building affordable homes.
