Beyond the Build
Social Impact Study
The study surveys 15 partner families prior to moving into their Habitat homes, and again one-year after becoming Habitat homeowners at 136 Pinery Trail. Survey results demonstrate that the Habitat homeownership model improves lives across seven unique dimensions.
1. Living conditions
2. Neighbourhood and community
4. Financial well-being
5. Family’s health
6. Mental well-being
7. Children’s well-being.
We have built a great sense of community, seeing all the different cultures and having families help each other out. I have really enjoyed getting to know all of the families in our neighbourhood, and my children play with all the kids that live here.
Michelle, Pinery Trail Habitat homeowner
My children have done well in school since moving in. The extra space and ability to have their own rooms has been a positive impact. Prior to moving, all three kids shared a room and the only work space was the dining room table.
