McLevin Title Home Sponsor shares moments of inspiration

To make the dream of homeownership a reality for the six McLevin Partner Families takes a large investment.  Sponsorship is integral to our ability to build Habitat homes, and without the support from our generous sponsors we simply could not do the work that we do.

Our Title Sponsors of the McLevin Avenue homes were inspired as they each followed their partner family make the journey towards Habitat homeownership.  John Jenner, VP, Marketing & Community Relations, DUCA Financial shared his experience:

As I looked at the lovely, newly built home sponsored by DUCA Financial Services Credit Union Ltd. at the McLevin Avenue site, knowing that it was built for a worthy family deserving of a boost in life, I was struck by the extremely personal and profound effect that this home was going to have upon its inhabitants. And not just in its immediate impact – the opportunity to live in a clean, fresh, stable structure – but the influence this will have upon that family’s future.

We know that a child’s upbringing and environment can play an important role when that child grows and has his or her own children and this made me consider what can happen when corporate Canada works together with an organization such as Habitat for Humanity. Yes, it’s about creating nice structures for deserving families to live in today; but it’s also about helping them turn their house into a home which will have a positive impact upon the next generation. It’s inspiring to me to be a part of a group of corporations that profoundly influence Canadian families today as well as tomorrow.

Our heartfelt thanks to the generous and dedicated Title Home Sponsors of the six McLevin homes: Great-West Life, DUCA, Right at Home Realty, GWL Realty Advisors, St. Michael’s College School and Genworth Canada.
