The ADT Habitat Challenge comes to the Torbram Build Site

ADT Habitat Challenge at Torbram Build site

Since ADT launched its community service program, ADT Always Cares, in 2013, the company has partnered with hundreds of local nonprofit organizations in over 200 communities.  ADT Always Cares encompasses both employee volunteerism and employee-directed philanthropy, with a focus on protecting vulnerable populations by providing hands-on assistance to charities.

In the three years since launching the Always Cares program, Habitat for Humanity has emerged as one of ADT’s most beloved charitable partners with hundreds of ADT employees serving thousands of hours.

Recently ADT launched a new partnership with Habitat for Humanity International, The ADT Habitat Challenge, which brings together ADT employees to help build homes in Denver, Jacksonville, Florida, and Toronto.

Habitat for Humanity GTA was proud to host the Challenge at its Torbram Build Site for two Blitz builds on April 30 and May 7, 2016.  More than 60 employees converged on the site to build homes for 18 families currently living in need of safe, decent, affordable housing.  This year alone, ADT has contributed $30,000 to purchase building materials for the Torbram Road project.

“ADT is incredibly excited to bring our Habitat Challenge program to the greater Toronto community, where our local departments have fielded volunteer teams to compete to see which department performs best on the build site,” said Alex Price, who leads community relations for ADT. “While it’s fun to have Habitat GTA award a winning team, the true focus is on working with families to help build strength and independence. We’re honored to take part in this work.”
