RESTORE & DISTRIBUTION CENTRE

Put your retail skills and energy to good use. Join one of Habitat’s ReStores across the GTA and play a vital role in helping to raise funds for building new homes across our region.

Habitat ReStore is a network of non-profit home improvement retail stores owned and operated by Habitat for Humanity GTA. Every gently used or new light fixture, every couch and every door sold in a ReStore generates proceeds that help more working families unlock the benefits of homeownership.

ReStore also plays an important role in our circular economy and the environment by reusing quality household items, reducing our impact on natural resources.

ReStore volunteers prepare merchandise for sale, manage inventory of donated goods, provide customer service and support warehouse activities at the Central Distribution Centre, including e-commerce.

  • Volunteer at your nearest ReStore or at the Central Distribution Centre, with flexible 4-hour shifts available at each location, 7 days a week. Click here to see opportunities at your nearest ReStore.
  • All are welcome, whether you are a high-school student looking to complete your Community Involvement Hours or a community member looking to meet your neighbours and give back

Deconstruction and Salvage

At Habitat ReStore, you’ll find an eclectic mix of new and gently used items for your home. While many ReStore items are donated by corporate partners, customers, families and community members, larger items like a set of kitchen cabinets or bathroom fixtures need a little bit of help getting to the ReStore. If you love working with tools and taking things apart, our Deconstruction Team needs you. In deconstruction, you’ll go to homes across the GTA to carefully dismantle and remove entire kitchens, doors, bathroom fixtures and major appliances. Bring the goods back to a ReStore and you’ve just helped a family find the pieces for that perfect kitchen.
