2024
A Year of Possibility.
Relief. That is the word we hear most often when Habitat homeowners move into their new homes. Relief because they no longer must choose between good nutrition and rent. Relief because they no longer must worry about having to move multiple times or live with the uncertainty of renoviction. Relief from the physical and mental ills that come from living in apartments that are crowded, dark, damp and far from what a family needs to thrive.
For all of us at team Habitat for Humanity GTA, we’re feeling immense gratitude for having successfully completed six communities, representing 85 homes that now enable individuals, couples and families to start and end every day in a home that provides them with relief.
All of this is made possible thanks to the unwavering support from our donors, volunteers, developer partners and government partners. Your dedication and generosity have been instrumental in our mission to address the housing affordability crisis. Together, we are creating real solutions for families, transforming lives, and building stronger, more diverse, and equitable communities.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to embark on the construction of another 86 homes across six communities. Over the next five years, our ambitious plan to build 300 more homes across the GTA will bring stability and an improved quality of life to even more families and young people.
Thank you for being a vital part of this journey. Thank you for Making Homes Possible.
With heartfelt thanks,
Ene Underwood
CEO, Habitat for Humanity GTA
