The pace at which housing unaffordability is growing in the GTA is staggering. Habitat GTA, alongside volunteers, donors, and community partners has provided a hand-up to more than 500 families so parents and children can have a safe, decent and affordable place to call home.

Sustainability

Support the creation of energy efficient homes.

Habitat is partnering with the federal government to build sustainable homes to reduce impact on the environment and reduce costs for homeowners.
We target to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by at least 25% for specific build projects.

Accessibility

Build inclusive communities for families with accessibility needs.

Habitat is partnering with the federal government to provide more accessible housing opportunities for families in the GTA.

Women Empowerment

Give a hand-up to those women facing unique barriers to housing.

Habitat is committed to serving single mothers who otherwise cannot afford a home.

Diversity & Inclusion

Help narrow the racial homeownership gap.

Habitat is working alongside the BlackNorth Initiative (BNI) and Dream Legacy Foundation, to develop the BNI Homeownership Bridge Program designed as an affordable housing solution that responds to the economic and racial inclusion problem that Black Canadians face in the GTA. Our goal is to create 200 new Black homeowners by 2027.

Youth

Develop valuable life skills for youth.

Habitat inspires and engages youth, including at-risk youth, providing them with on-the-job training and life skills that can have a long-lasting and life-changing impact.
