Habitat for Humanity GTA is Making Homes Possible. Making Homes Right Now. Making Homes through Action.
We all have a stake in this. Communities are stronger, more equitable and more diverse when everyone has a home they can afford. We know that creating a brighter future for today’s children and the generations to come depends on acting now.
That’s why we’re Making Homes Possible.
Samantha, Amelia, and their son Landyn faced constant relocations and the threat of renoviction, even during pregnancy. Despite having good jobs, the dream of a home of their own seemed out of reach. Then they discovered Habitat for Humanity GTA, and everything changed for the better.
Your donation means you are investing in the bricks and mortar that will change the lives of families – just like Samantha, Amelia and Landyn – not only for today but also for generations to come.
Join us in Making Homes Possible for families today.
MAKING HOMES POSSIBLE.
Habitat GTA’s innovation and ambition has enabled us to deliver more homes today than we did ten years ago when the cost of building homes was less than 1/3 of today’s costs. We do this through innovation around how we build our homes; through creative financing solutions; through partnerships with for-profit developers; and partnerships with every level of government.
Our unique approach removes the barriers of traditional home-buying. Habitat’s innovative financing model means families can buy a home without a down payment and each home remains affordable long-term, even when families sell. Habitat GTA homes remain affordable from one family to the next, but we cannot do this without donors like you.
We can no longer afford to leave it up to governments alone to solve the problem. We all have a stake in this. Now is the time for donors to be part of the solution.

When you support Habitat for Humanity GTA, you are not only addressing a critical need, but also creating positive ripple effects in many areas of our society:
- Improved Health & Wellness – Families who move into Habitat homes benefit from a better quality of life, including more stable and fulfilling jobs, greater financial security, better physical and mental health, and improved education and well-being for children.
- Stronger Economies – A study by Boston Consulting Group found that every $1 invested in Habitat for Humanity GTA generates about $4 in social and economic value, through property taxes, increased income taxes, reduced social support and other gains. The Habitat model empowers families to take charge of their lives and their futures by having a decent home that supports their success at school and work.
- More Inclusive Communities – Racialized communities have historically faced barriers to homeownership and have missed out on many opportunities and benefits. At Habitat for Humanity GTA, we work to address this inequality by partnering with many families from racialized communities. Through our efforts, we ensure our neighbourhoods are as diverse as they are strong.
- Empowerment for Women – Nearly 30% of our families are single-parent-led households, headed by women. These are hardworking mothers who face challenges to raise their children on their own. By partnering with Habitat GTA, they achieve more stability and confidence to provide a better future for their kids.
- Hope for Young People – We not only offer affordable homes to families, but also to young people who are single or in a relationship. They face difficulties in buying or renting a home due to the high prices in the market. Your support enables young people to have a better housing situation and to address the housing affordability crisis for the next generation.
- Smarter, Sustainable Communities – We value every piece of land we use to build homes for our families. We make sure we use the land wisely and build as many homes as we can without compromising on quality or space, avoiding the need for sprawl. We also follow high standards of energy efficiency and sustainability in our construction, which reduces our carbon footprint and environmental impact.
