We congratulate Habitat for Humanity GTA’s Director of Volunteer Services, Francine Negre Laroche, on becoming a recipient of this year’s June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award in the Excellence in Volunteer Management category! This prestigious award is through the Government of Ontario and the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration. It recognizes an individual or group from an organization incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation or registered as a charity for their achievement in encouraging people to volunteer in their communities. Up to five individuals and/or groups receive this award each year in the province. Francine brings a tremendous amount of passion and dedication to her role in creating a memorable volunteer experience at Habitat GTA. This award is a testament to Francine’s outstanding achievement.

In addition, Francine was invited as a guest speaker for the Ontario Volunteer Service Award ceremony, where several Habitat GTA volunteers were recognized for their service. Francine shared her perspective on the meaning of volunteerism and its impact on the community. More than 4,000 volunteers and 600 nominating organizations, and MPPs from across the province, were in attendance. Durham region MPPs have also acknowledged this contribution.

We also congratulate the following volunteers on receiving the Ontario Volunteer Service Award; we are grateful for your contribution to Habitat GTA:
