What do you enjoy most about your volunteer experience with Habitat GTA?

I enjoy interacting with customers and helping them with their questions and having the opportunity to try different types of tasks.

What have you found rewarding about your volunteer role?

I am a part of an organization that helps communities in need. I also like meeting new volunteers and helping them out because some volunteers are students, and they chose cooperative education because they wanted to see what kind of experience it is in the real world before they graduate high school.

What new things do you feel you have learned while volunteering?

I learned that there are a lot of very charitable people who like to give back to their communities through donations.

What does community mean to you?

Community means to me that everyone is included, and we don’t judge people and we make decisions together.

What thoughts would you share with a new volunteer who is just starting their journey with Habitat GTA?

I would tell them that everyone on the staff is very nice and welcoming, and they help each other out. I would also say that Teamwork is very important, and everyone should try their best to work together daily to make the day a success.
